Darius Dennis is a traditional fine artist with focuses in painting, illustration, mural design and consultation. Professionally Dennis is the founder of a boutique sign and mural firm headquartered in Chicago. Large scale + hand painted hyper realism, impressionism and photo realism are Dennis’ specialties. Dennis worked for the global leader of hand painted advertising and painted for the top luxury brands in the world before opening his own studio in 2022. Big Wall Sign & Mural has managed exclusive painting opportunities for NASCAR, Premier League Soccer, and an exclusive group of notable artists and designers.
Big Wall Sign & Mural is an OSHA certified, fully licensed and insured mural agency that creates the largest scale paintings from concept to completion. Dennis’ practice focuses, collaboration, safety, heavy equipment and traditional techniques. The paintings themselves focus on where historical conversations meet the modern world and pushes the envelope between mural and monument, beacon of the past or sign of the times. Dennis uses painting as a device to change our perception of space while embracing our own spirits. Dennis’ larger projects blur the lines of visual-education tools, sign painting, and activism.
