Daniela Guerreiro
Biography
Daniela Guerreiro is a Portuguese visual artist whose work addresses themes of acceptance, diversity and introspection through figurative painting. Born in Faro in 1992, Daniela studied Visual Arts at the University of the Algarve and Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon. Her artistic approach is marked by a quest to portray reality in a raw and authentic way, using painting as a means of capturing both individual and collective experiences.
Her work focuses on the exploration of overcoming, confidence and energy, often using unconventional models to convey a hidden beauty and authenticity that is often disregarded by society. The interplay between light and dark, as well as color, are central elements in her attempt to expose the identity and beauty hidden in diverse human experiences. Daniela presents an anti-oppressive vision by normalizing bodies that escape imposed social norms, celebrating them in situations of self-care and intimacy.
