Biography
Samara Ash, born in Bogota, Colombia, is based in Miami, Florida, and travels extensively to create large-scale public artworks.
She is a resident artist at Koubek Center Miami-Dade, Little Havana, Florida. Ash graduated as Valedictorian from University of Florida through New World School of the Arts where she earned a Dual BFA in Painting and Electronic Intermedia along with a Minor in Art History.
Ash is an interdisciplinary artist that explores the intersections of power and frailty. Incorporating painting, photography, murals, and tech into her practice; Ash draws inspiration from personal & historical experiences of potentiality & weakness.
Ash’s work has been part of numerous exhibitions; selected shows include Ascension: Art Basel Miami aWall Mural Projects, W. Little River (2024); Paint Memphis, City of Memphis Art in Public Places (2024); Unveiling: Art Basel Miami, Miami Shores Village Hall (2023); AWENA Inauguration, City of Fort Pierce (2023); Channing Tatum’s: MML LIVE & Steven Soderbergh’s Singani 63, Buick Building Design District, Miami, FL (2022); Memphis Art Salon, Memphis, TN (2024); Museum of Art & Design - Freedom Tower, Downtown Miami, Florida (2008).
