Ivan Roque
Biography
I was born December 27, 1991 in Miami, Florida. I'm a Cuban American artist and I've been painting professionally since I was 18 years old. I started doing murals in 2011 and it's been my primary art form since then. My mother was a main influence in me pursuing art as a career as she was the only one that believed in what I could do and showed that this was my purpose, to embrace the gifts I had and bring beauty to the world. I'm always grateful for that. I've been fortunate enough to have painted in over 15 different states and five different countries having met artists and friends from all over the world. I've worked with many Fortune 500 companies such as McDonald's, NBC Universal, Virgin Voyages, and Capital One just to name a few. In 2024 I won a National Mural Award getting Bronze in the Southeast region of the United States. I also have a Bachelor's of Art Degree in Visual Arts from Florida International University.
I work mainly in spray paint with a focus on flora and fauna with its relation and comparison to the human experience. I always felt that animals that can tell more about humanity than humans themselves as unlike us they don't wear a mask. They are always true to who they are.
